Kelsey Keaton holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
She's spent an inordinate number of hours organizing metal type, sewing book bindings, caring for plants, and cataloging insect specimens - all of which figure heavily in her work. She’s also photographed nearly 2,000 beetles (including one caught by Darwin himself!) that are available online for use by researchers worldwide.
She is currently employed at the Field Museum of Natural History as a Grants Specialist and is working on an illustrated fairytale about a natural history museum.
