Kelsey Keaton holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

She's spent an inordinate number of hours cataloging insect specimens, organizing metal type, sewing book bindings, and caring for plants - all of which figure heavily in her work.

She is currently employed at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago IL as a Grants Specialist and is working on an illustrated fairytale about a natural history museum.

She’s also photographed nearly 2,000 beetles (including one caught by Darwin himself) that are available as part of an online resource for researchers worldwide.
